In recent years, there have been significant technological advancements in these types of braces that have decreased their size and thickness providing for increased comfort and better hygiene.

WHAT TO EXPECT
How can I start my Orthodontic Treatment?
Before scheduling you for the cementation of the brackets, we would be first referring you to our partner Dental Laboratory for your diagnostic requirements, such as: Panoramic and Cephalometric Xrays, Facial and Dental Profile Photographs and if necessary, Digital Impressions or Standard Impressions of your teeth.
After we have received your requirements, the information will be used to help create your customized treatment plan. This will include how each tooth needs to be moved in order to get it in the best possible position.
Soon after your Pre-Orthodontic Consultation with us, where we will be discussing every detail with you, if you have agreed with our treatment plan, we will be then scheduling you for your actual treatment.
How Long Will I Be in Braces?
This is what everyone wants to know, but it’s one we don’t have a concrete answer for. Every mouth is different, and every patient responds to treatment in their own way. Treatment time with metal braces will be different every time.
The average time spent in metal braces is around 18 to 22 months but could be shorter or longer, depending on the individual. We have patients in braces for as little as six months. But for complex issues, it can take over three years to complete the process.
With metal braces, you can see signs of improvement in just a short period of time, and that gives you confidence during the treatment process.
Do I need to wear Retainers after Braces?
Retainers are custom devices designed to hold your teeth in place. They’re often prescribed after orthodontic treatment, such as braces, to keep your bite in place after it’s been reshaped or corrected.
Wearing a retainer can be irritating, but it’s a mild inconvenience compared to having to go through having braces all over again. But there are several types of retainers that may be suitable for you. Contact Us for if you want to know more.
